ALEXANDER WALLEY
OBITUARY
Alexander (Alex) Stuart Walley was born on December 17, 1950 in Sharon Hill, PA. He was the first of three children born to the late Alexander W. Walley and Fayetta T. Bishop. Raised in Sharon Hill, PA, he was educated in the Darby Township School System, and subsequently graduated with honors from Manasquan High School in NJ. On April 7, 2019, Alex said goodbye to his earthly dwelling and went home to receive his heavenly reward. Greeting him at the gates of heaven were his mom and dad who preceded him in death.
Alex was employed with several companies, was a good cook and worked in the culinary field for several years. He was also employed with a custom manufacturer of thermoformed packaging and heat-sealing products. He enjoyed eating and loved his Mother’s Holiday feasts, savoring her potato salad, and macaroni and cheese at every occasion!
Alex attended and was a member of Mount Zion CME Church in Sharon Hill, PA. As a member of Mount Zion CME, he sang on the Men’s choir and participated in community workshops. Alex was very knowledgeable and the family admired his ability to answer trivia questions while watching the Jeopardy Game Show. He had a great love of children and an amazing personality. He adored his nieces and nephews, often laughing hilariously at their jokes and shenanigans. His infectious smile and contagious laugh brought sunshine to a dreary day.
Alex loved spending time with his brother Mark and his sister Rhonda. He loved all genres of music, but Motown was his favorite and he loved to dance. He especially enjoyed Diana Ross and always talked about seeing her perform at the former Latin Casino in Cherry Hill, NJ. Alex relished in spending time with his brother Mark, watching championship basketball and football games. He was very artistic and his sister recalls how he would build her doll houses out of shoe boxes and materials that looked impressively better than the expensive houses available from stores!
He was an honest, forgiving, outgoing and generous person and gave his all and all to the people he loved.
He leaves to cherish his memory: one brother Mark Walley of Crum Lynn, PA, one sister, Rhonda Walley-Wade and brother-in-law, Richard, seven aunts; Ruth Waters of Sharon Hill, PA, Mary Ruffin of Sharon Hill, PA, Catherine Goode of Yeadon, PA, Carolyn Reeves of Holmdel, NJ, Joy Bishop of Glen Mills, PA, Mildred Green of Eatontown, NJ, and Elsie Bishop of Glenolden, PA, niece Kesha Cade (David) of Sicklerville, NJ, one nephew, Richard B. Wade of Yeadon, PA, three great-nieces, Kayla, Ezranae and Kennedy and three great-nephews, David III, Darien and Daniel; his caretakers, Kevin and Mark, and a host of cousins, family and friends.
Lovingly submitted,
The family
